The story of Holy
Trinity began in 1879 when a group of German Lutherans met in a French
Protestant Church and determined to use the English language in their
worship, teaching, and ministry. It was a kind of Pentecost-experience:
a faith shared in a way which leaped across language barriers. We emerged
through our exciting formative years into a vigorous congregation, influenced
the establishment of eight other congregations, involved Holy Trinity's
life and purpose in the expanding and changing city, strengthened our
congregation's Gospel witness even in times of wars and civil disturbance,
and pledged to continue as a creative, courageous and innovative metropolitan
congregation.
